Stop playing victim over Phee’s arrest, DAP

We can tell the value and principles of a person, or in this case a party, when they are under scrutiny.

The constant bullying and blaming of Penanti assemblyman Dr Norlela Ariffin after her efforts to close down the illegal carbon filter factory in Sungai Lembu resulted in the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) arrest of DAP’s Phee Boon Poh is a wakeup call for the party and its supporters.

People need to know that DAP is not what they always preach to be, their leaders have been embroiled in corruption and even party secretary general Lim Guan Eng face corruption charges for allegedly using his position to approve an application to convert agriculture land for residential use, and buying a bungalow for RM2.8 million, below its market value of RM4.3 million.

I urge DAP supporters to stop their attack and bullying on Norlela, who had informed Malay Mail Online that she became public enemy number one after Phee’s arrest.

There is a huge amount of hypocrisy in the DAP camp right now just because of their leaders being embroiled in a corruption charge.

Lim Kit Siang was quoted as saying that the MACC’s arrest of Penang executive councillor Phee Boon Poh was an attempt to “whitewash corruption” in the country.

I think that this is a highly irresponsible statement by him as he is undermining the great strives MACC is achieving in eradicating corruption in the country.

I urge DAP and its leaders to stop playing the victim and own up when their leaders are embroiled in corruption.

DAP must know that playing the victim had worked in the previous election but Malaysians are beginning to see DAP’s hypocrisy when it comes to corruption, so playing the victim is only making fools out of their supporters.

I urge DAP to allow MACC to do their work without any hindrance.
