Resignation of four leaders shows DAP members at loggerheads

The resignation of three DAP state assemblymen and a member of parliament (MP) in Melaka on Sunday clearly shows that the party leaders are now at loggerheads and not on the right track.

UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said DAP had often been pointing fingers at Barisan Nasional (BN) and UMNO but the opposition party was not aware that what it accused BN and UMNO of was happening to them.

"That's why don't accuse BN and UMNO and bring in non-constructive politics by poisoning the people's thinking towards BN and UMNO.

"DAP wants to point their fingers at our (BN and UMNO) 'home' but their own 'home' is in disarray."

He said this after the handing-out of land titles to 333 Felcra Sungai Jebong settlers in Mukim Kahang, on Tuesday  by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

Hishammuddin, who is also Sembrong MP, was commenting on the three Melaka assemblymen who quit DAP last Sunday, namely Lim Jak Wong (Bachang), Chin Choong Seong (Kesidang) and Goh Leong San (Duyong), as well as Kota Melaka MP, Sim Tong Him.

He said the people could judge for themselves what was happening in DAP at the moment as the people in this age were smart enough to gauge which party was sincere in fighting for the "rakyat".

Hishammuddin, who is also Defence Minister, said BN and UMNO were not bothered with the internal problems of other parties but was instead doubling its efforts towards development and the well-being of the people.

"It was claimed that one of our ministers wanted to resign but in the end, it was not true. Instead, it was their (DAP) elected representatives who quit. So, the people should judge this themselves," he said.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Khaled said he welcomed such resignations and hoped more DAP members would follow suit.-15/2/2017
